Just came back from Times Square and i feel alive though i’m so exhausted from all the travelling. It is as though the whole world is right there with you, soaking up the atmosphere beneath the dazzling lights of Times Square.
Exactly ONE week to home.
I am excited : )
The nomads are on the move again !
After an educational week in DC (i visited more museums than i have ever in Singapore), we are finally on our way to New York, our last final stop before we fly back home.
Come tomorrow it will be one month since we started touring the East. Can’t believe i have been on the road for so long and i am getting a lil’ drained by our nomadic lifestyle and being tourist. The weather here is as erratic as my pms mood swings. Shorts days are always short-lived and sometimes i feel like it is Thunder Bay all over again with the cold winds and shivers. But Then Again… While feeling exhausted from all that, a new found energy is coming our way. Maybe it is the idea of returning home, maybe it is the smell of the end, or maybe it is the empire state of mind.
In the meantime, be good Bangkok. I still want you in August. No more fightings, no more bombings. Or else He Mama will not let me go and i will be very bitter. You were good to me last June by calming down within a month and i had a great time with you, remember ? Please be better.
11 more days !
I’m in DC now and have 2 weeks left till the end of this world tour.
I want to make the best of it and not be homesick.
To the Big Apple in 3 days time !
2 weeks well into the world tour and our nomadic lifestyle is really not easy. Outrageous parking fines, passport woes and a missed train, multiples All-You-Can-Eat, 7 hours drive, braving the winds of the East Coast and a Justin Bieber fever.. Too many travellers’ tales to share.
Toronto, Niagara, New York, Montreal, Boston, Atlantic City, Philadelphia, Washington DC, New York
3 more weeks to Home baby ! : )
Now i know what’s the big deal about New York.
Spent one whole day in the big apple with Sheryl and Jiahui, as well as Shuwei and Valen. Very surreal indeed to me, to have Swei and Valen with us on in New York ! But thanks to their recommendations, we had one of the sinful, fattening, but mega delicious burgers, cookies and artichoke pizzas Ever. Stay tune for my photo uploads and you’ll know what i mean.
On the greyhound now, with 2 more hours to go to reach Montreal. This morning was crazy, with a missing passport, fucked up taxi driver and a missed train. Nevertheless, thank goodness we are well on our way to Montreal !
Oh yes. 4 more weeks to go before i head home baby : )
Good Friday holiday weekend was, well, not much of a holiday. The entire Thunder Bay transformed into a ghost town literally and all our plans for the weekends were brutally thwarted. Everywhere was closed. Almost as if everyone stopped working and went back home to hunt for easter eggs in their garden. It was also our last weekend before we get down to studying for our Finals which start this Saturday. I can only think of 7 letters – SPSBSJP
The only thing that is keeping me going for the next 2 weeks is leaving this place to start our world tour. Though booking our accommodations and settling our transport from places to places have been nothing but a BIG FAT BITCH, i am still excited. Cos that will also mean that i can start my Count Down to home ! But in the mean time and back to reality, there is many many things for me to do.
One, of course will be studying. My just-pass and i-on-exchange attitude for the past 12 weeks will indeed be put to test this time. My pencil box has been sitting in that corner since Week 1. Le sigh.
Two, i have to start packing all my winter barangs to ship back home. Half of my winter wear i brought over were never worn. Tmddd. And as usual, i have to face to velly expensib consequence of my over zealous style of packing cos shipping is just so mother father expensib !! I probably have to go through a series of serious dilemmas because i cannot exceed 10kg. I need He Mama, i really do.
And of course not to mention all the administrative stuff i got to settle like my transcript and whatnots. And and and we have yet to settle all our travelling accommodations and plans !! Can you hear my exclamation marks ?
Okay it’s 2am. I promise myself earlier nights from now on. Time for me to watch The Office now before i curl up like a furball under my blanket. Hope i can see the deer outside my window again.
I am sure i want to come back here again – Vancouver is too awesome.
Day 2 in this amazing city of Canada and i am loving it. Far far cry from the small and laid back Thunder Bay ! For the record the weather here is GOOD. 8 degrees to us now is really nothing. It is like Vivocity. Hahaha. Shopping is fabulous with their ridiculously Shiok sales. (Example: I bought 2 bags from Aldo for less than 30 dollals) Food is Too Good To Be True. Wide variety of Asian cuisine especially. The Korean place that i went for dinner last night served perhaps one of the most authentic Korean food i have ever tried. And of course the Olympics fever is Crasi. The whole place is in a massive celebration !
At this rate we are going, i am going to be dead broke, mad fat and getting increasingly Canadian-fied, if there’s such a term.
Okay, time to rest and rejuvenate for tomorrow. We are going to AYG and part of the opening ceremony of the Olympics by going to the BC Stadium, outside. Hee.
